If this were your sister, what would you have done? Ms. Harrell called 911 after talking her sister into going to the hospital. Apparently, she checked out of the hospital and returned to Ms. Harrell’s apartment. Once there she began to feel “demons” and that she needed to take her kids to safety. This feeling of being in danger and being pursued by devils is consistent with the psychosis that can accompany a serious form of postpartum depression.

Just a few months ago there was the very sad and troubling case of a young Connecticut mother who was killed with her baby in the car after driving to the White House. There are some factors common to both of these situations that were shared by the black contractor who shot  multiple victims at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC last year.

What they all suffered from
