This website shines a light on those areas of our lives most urgently  in need of change. Most easy to change, too.

We can eliminate food and environmental factors that cause depression and make us tired. You can release the stress that comes from dealing with racism -  those things can be altered fairly easily.

Changing the thinking and habits that keep us unhappy, make us self-destructive, and fearful of going after the things we deserve - those take much longer and are much harder to change. Fighting that internal voice that second guesses you and undermines your confidence - fighting the well-meaning voices of friends & relatives who think you're going beyond your place or don't want you to be disappointed - or don't want to lose you to what you consider important  - that's harder. Fear can hold you back.

For example, the Black Church is the center of our community, a necessary and nurturing component of our lives. However, we must hold the churches accountable for putting black dollars to work, making verifiable changes in the community. Your church dollars should show up as education programs, health services, emergency food and housing assistance - not a new car for the pastor.

The Black Church holds promise for us as a mainstay of our culture that can begin immediately to change minds and hearts. It can teach us, by example, how to aim each dollar available to us, towards changing our lives & those of the people we care about.

You can start this change in your church. You can start today with yourself and next week with your family. Make a list of 5 things you can do to change your life. See the Life Plan for details.

The Greatest Risk to the Survival of Black Americans  is our tendency to put our heads in the sand ostrich1.wmf (4142 bytes)and trust anybody "in authority" to make fair choices for us. We've got to take our heads out of the sand and use them: To do the research ourselves, and make sense out of things.

Gone are the days when you can trust companies (employers as well as manufacturers), institutions (schools, hospitals) and the government to do what's right.

As a matter of fact, AAtherapists.com, after taking a close look at some of the complaints of our people, have found that there is NO institution that we know of that you can trust. You will need to open your mind and pay close attention to the recommendations and intentions of the organizations on which you are dependent.

Our job as AAtherapists is to help you find the truth,....more

Investigate these issues....(more)

Nearly every aspect of our social culture promotes work, health, educational and self-esteem "truths" that are not valid for us black folks. When something doesn't work for you, there is a reason. It's not that you're incompetent.

The All American diet may be the death knell of the African American.

"As people highly sensitive to chemicals, we must avoid preservatives, pesticides, and other of the 80,000 (mostly untested) chemicals added to food."

For example, African Americans, by genetic heritage and blood type are more susceptible to certain diseases, allergies, and immune system problems than whites.

Eating a European based diet spells destruction for us.  Obesity, diabetes, and asthma are the results of eating foods that our systems can't tolerate, while not eating the foods that we need to protect us.

Get educated: Read these books about foods & our health issues:

"Eat Right for Your Type" by Dr. Peter D'Adamo

"The Yeast Connection"

"Brain Allergies - The Psychonutrient Connection" by Philpot & Kalita
