Examining the Greatest Risks to the Survival of Black Americans   ostrich1.wmf (4142 bytes)

Many aspects of the current culture operate in a manner that will assure our destruction as a racial group.

Those of us, forward thinkers, who ignore group opinion and insists on taking the extra steps to live differently, only those people can survive now. Many of the mood disorders and even psychoses that we see now are the results of chemical sensitivities. The brain takes in what we eat, inhale and absorb. We can limit many of the substances which affect us.

Understand what it means to live in a culture that is profit driven ($). We spend more of our income on disposable items than any other consumer group, at a time when companies are desperate for new consumer dollars. Find out if you are giving money to companies that pollute, discriminate or create bad products here or in Third World countries. (See ResponsibleShopper.org)

We have a history of letting our money go easily without asking much in return for food, cars, clothing, and other products. As people highly sensitive to chemicals, we need to be alert to what substances are in that food, in our clothing, in household products (carpeting or Scotchgard fabric protector, for example) & in our environment.

Manufacturers desperate to make a profit may well use the cheapest, but not least toxic materials, unless we discontinue buying them.
But we are such a quiet, obedient, complacent people when it comes to consumer action. We seldom complain, question and reject unsafe products or practices. We don't take a sheet of paper and 15 minutes and write to them.

Some few manufacturers may have been guided by their conscience in their manufacturing decisions, but far too many are willing to experiment and use the FDA's standard where the consumer has to prove harm before a product is pulled from the shelves.

We trust people who could care less about us to:

  • Provide us with safe and healthy food and we don't have the slightest idea what's really in packaged or processed foods, KFC, Popeye's, Domino's, Wendy's or McDonald's. Or baby food. Tip: If you can't pronounce it, don't eat it.
  • Tell us how to stay healthy and stay alive. We believe in the food pyramid even though we experience chronic respiratory problems from dairy, heart problems from meat, and addiction problems (diabetes, drug & alcohol addiction) related to high intake of refined carbohydrates and sugars.
  • Tell us how and what to think. To come into our homes via television to train us and our children 24/7 about what's important in life and how we should act, what we should buy, etc. They babysit our kids, electronically.
  • Observe us becoming the New Slaves, working for Mastercard, Visa and American Express while the terms & conditions of payment change right under our noses.

Those who will survive in the New Millenium will do so by:

  • Not following the crowd
  • Asking questions and seeking information that makes sense
  • Working, playing and living in a way that enhances their spiritual lives
  • Seeking pure foods
  • Working for themselves
  • Looking to God for acceptance & support rather than a partner, employer or critical parent
